04 Jul Im3 wins the Enel Brazil contract in a consortium with Nipsa
Enel Distribución Brasil awards the NIP-IM3 consortium the 2018-2021 framework contract for low and medium-voltage projects by its subsidiary in Goiás (CELG) in the regions of Rio Verde, Morrinhos, Luziania and Formosa.
Currently the biggest distributor in Brazil, in 2017 Enel completed the purchase of Compañía Eléctrica de Goiás (CELG), with a geographical distribution area bigger than Uruguay, and with obsolete infrastructures after many years of state ownership.
With the privatisation of what became Enel Distribución Goiás, the aim of the company’s new owners was to modernise all its infrastructures and processes, as well as implementing the highest safety standards in its operations.
It is within this new situation that Enel Brazil decided to award the NIP-IM3 consortium the 2018-2021 framework contract to carry out all the low and medium-voltage projects by its subsidiary in Goiás (CELG) in the regions of Rio Verde, Morrinhos, Luziania and Formosa, covering an area of 200,000 km2.
This contract cements the im3’s position in the largest country in Latin America, through its subsidiary im3 Engenheiros do Brasil Ltda.
Growth in this country is one of the strategic aims of im3 Latam, with a permanent presence in Chile, Peru, Brazil and soon Argentina.
