19 Apr State-of-the-art equipment at the service of Engineering

The technical team of Engineers Emetres (IM3) that designs Electrical Projects for Medium Voltage Overhead Lines, uses state-of-the-art equipment and tools.

The images correspond to the topographic survey of a 27 km overhead power line in the province of Lleida (Spain), the data was obtained by LIDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) flight with a helicopter, owned by the partner company Aerolaser.

The LIDAR technology implemented in flights allows the digitalization of the landscape through points that discriminate the different obstacles that can be found during the design process of MV Overhead Power Lines.

The data obtained in the flight is loaded into the PLS-CADD software, through which 3D surfaces are generated, allowing the engineers to design the lines more accurately and quickly.
