The latest edition of the IEC 61850 2.1b (2007B4) standard introduces disruptive advantages for Substation Automation Systems (SAS) with new testing and monitoring functions. But until now there was no tool capable of automating the development of projects in a digital environment.

“The current state of evolution of the 61850 standard allows much higher levels of reliability while halving both the execution time and the TCO (total cost of ownership) of the SAS of mining substations”, emphasizes Daniel Sánchez Castán, CEO of Chile and Latam of Im3, “but it is necessary to follow a systematic procedure, beginning with the specification of the adequate mining profile for the service requirements of these operations
