Integral remodeling of public spaces and streets in Barcelona

Im3 provides the study and preliminary proposal, final plan and site management for the total redevelopment of multiple public spaces and streets in the city of Barcelona.

Between 2014 and 2016 im3 provided the final plans and site management for work on 18 streets in the Ciutat Vella, Eixample and Sants-Montjuïc districts of Barcelona (including the Carrer d’Urgell and Carrer de Balmes) with a total volume of €15M, under the contract for the overall improvement plan for public space in the city of Barcelona 2014-2016.

From 2014 to 2016 im3 won several contracts involving plans and site management for projects to renew the road surface of large numbers of streets in Barcelona, at a cost of €6M.

In recent years im3 has been awarded contracts to draw up designs and/or provide site management for complete redevelopment of the Parc de la Guineueta in the Nou Barris district (cost €1.8M), the work on the Carrer d’Aragó between its junctions with the Carrer de Casanova and the Carrer de Vilamarí (cost €2.2M) and to draw up total redevelopment plans for the Camí de la Reineta in the Canyelles neighbourhood of the Nou Barris district and several studies of streets in the Ciutat Vella district (pg. Colom, Av. Circumvalació).

With these plans and site management, the public spaces in question were affected with regard to: road surfaces and pavements, mobility, drains, lighting, traffic lights, signposting and road markings, hardening and irrigation, existing services, existing structures, street furniture and so on, and the necessary experts had to be provided in each of these areas.
