Digital Substation Esperanza EHE HAINA – commissioning tests

Empresa Generadora de Electricidad Haina S.A., known as EGE HAINA, is the main public-private company in the Dominican Republic in investment, contribution to the State and assets that are valued at 1,000 million dollars.
EGE HAINA is dedicated to the generation of electricity from natural gas (435 MW), wind (183 MW), photovoltaic (121 MW), liquid fuels (287 MW) and coal (52 MW).
The week of February 20th, Carlos Samitier, the CEO of Smart61850 (a division of the Im3 group) participated in the commissioning tests of the new Esperanza 34.5/138 kV Digital Power Substation for the injection into the transmission system of the energy generated in the EGE HAINA photovoltaic generation project.
EGE HAINA joins the club of electricity generation, transmission and distribution companies that have already entered the digitalization era of Substation Automation Systems (SAS) according to standard 61850, at the station and processes buses levels.
